Thorogood's rich history dates back to 1892 when Albert H. Weinbrenner, at the age of 27, opened a cobblery in Milwaukee with partner Joseph Peffer, serving the "Jobbing" trades. In 1964, the company's best-selling boot of all time, the Hike n' Camp, was introduced with its wedge sole and moccasin-style stitching. The company continued to evolve, becoming employee-owned through an ESOP in 2000, and launching the 1892 Heritage line of handcrafted, lifestyle boots in 2014.
