Shop / thorogood pull on work boots for men
Thorogood's moc toe work boot design features DURABLE FULL-GRAIN LEATHER BOOTS that are both comfortable and able to withstand demanding jobs. These boots are available in Tobacco (804-4200), Trail Crazyhorse (804-4575), and Midnight Black (804-6201) color options.
Crafted by skilled workers at Thorogood's US plants, these AMERICAN MADE boots utilize USA and globally sourced components. The MAXWEAR WEDGE™ TRACTION OUTSOLE flexes better than other work boot outsoles, absorbing impacts and protecting your feet and ankles while working on difficult surfaces, keeping you stable on loose gravel, wet, and oily surfaces. These outsoles meet ASTM F3445-21 slip-resistance standards.
The STEEL TOE BOOTS FOR MEN protect your feet from on-site impact and compression hazards while maintaining a light and flexible design, making them some of the best safety toe boots for men with dangerous jobs. They meet ASTM F2413-18 safety toe standards.
The MAXWEAR Wedge work boots also meet ASTM F2413-18 electrical hazard resistance safety standards, providing EH RESISTANCE. They feature a REMOVABLE ULTIMATE SHOCK ABSORPTION FOOTBED on a Poron Comfort Cushion Insole, utilizing Thorogood's dual-density cushioning with air-permeable open cells that wick away moisture and absorb shock, resulting in the most comfortable mens work boots.
Thorogood's heritage traces back to 1892 when Albert H. Weinbrenner, at the age of 27, opened a cobblery in Milwaukee with partner Joseph Peffer, serving "Jobbing" trades. The company was officially formed as Albert H. Weinbrenner Co. in 1900, and in 1916 the first catalog was printed, with the company having more leather cutting machines than any other in the U.S.
In 1917, Weinbrenner introduced the "Job-fitted" concept and became a major contributor of boots to the U.S. Army during WWI. The company took its first steps into safety footwear production in 1938 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1942, converting to all-military footwear for the duration of WWII.
The Official Boy Scout Boot, the Hike n' Camp, was introduced in 1964 with a wedge sole and moccasin-style stitching, becoming the company's best-selling boot of all time and still available in its original design today. Weinbrenner was purchased by a local group including six employees in 1988, creating the "ThoroGard" division featuring high-tech occupational safety footwear.
In 2000, Weinbrenner employees took ownership of the company through an ESOP, and in 2014, the 1892 Heritage line of handcrafted, lifestyle boots was introduced, built on the iconic No. 60 last. The company celebrated its 125th Anniversary in 2017 and continues to demonstrate a renewed commitment to upgrading and improving its domestic facilities, machinery, equipment, manufacturing methods, and computer systems/programs.
