From the brand:

At the age of 27, Albert H. Weinbrenner opened a cobblery in Milwaukee with partner Joseph Peffer, serving the "Jobbing" trades in 1892. The Albert H. Weinbrenner Co. was formed in 1900, and the company's first catalog was printed in 1916. At that time, the company had more leather cutting machines than any other in the U.S.

In 1917, the "Job-fitted" concept was introduced, and Weinbrenner became a major contributor of boots to the U.S. Army during World War I. The company took its first steps into safety footwear production in 1938 and celebrated its 50th year in business in 1942. During World War II, the company converted to all-military footwear, producing combat and dress styles, which also became popular with civilians.

In 1943, the company's workers organized under the International Boot & Shoe Workers Union, and management and workers have maintained an outstanding relationship to this day. The Official Boy Scout Boot, the Hike n' Camp, was introduced in 1964 with a wedge sole and moccasin-style stitching, becoming the company's best-selling boot of all time.

The company was purchased by a local group, including six employees, in 1988, and the "ThoroGard" division was created, featuring high-tech occupational safety footwear. Weinbrenner celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1992 with the theme "A Century of Lasting Quality."

In 2000, Weinbrenner employees took ownership of the company through an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan). Following the September 11th terror attacks in 2001, Weinbrenner donated 300 pairs of durable work boots to Ground Zero, with another 200 pairs following shortly after.

The 1892 Heritage line of handcrafted, lifestyle boots was introduced in 2014, built on the iconic No. 60 last. Weinbrenner celebrated its 125th Anniversary in 2017, demonstrating a renewed commitment to upgrading and improving domestic facilities, machines, equipment, manufacturing methods, and computer systems/programs.

In 2022, Weinbrenner celebrated 130 years as a company, with the opening of a new factory in Merrill, WI, and the launch of the first western wear product, Thorogood's Square Toe Wellingtons. Sales continue to increase as Thorogood gains popularity and expands with many new styles on the horizon.

Product Description:

All boots featuring a safety toe, either steel or composite, meet or exceed the falling IMPACT and COMPRESSION testing requirements. The boots are also constructed or manufactured with electric shock-resisting soles and heels, capable of withstanding 18,000 volts (RMS value) at 60 Hz for 1 minute, with no current flow or current leakage in excess of 1.0 milliamperes under dry conditions. Additionally, the footwear is tested for ASTM F3445-21 industry criteria for slip-resisting, and the outsole is designed to withstand or reduce damage due to oil.

The boots are made with 100% premium oil-tanned full-grain leather, crafted in the USA by skilled craftsmen and women at Thorogood's US plants, using USA and globally sourced components. They feature a plain toe Wellington work boot design, comfortable and durable for punishing jobs. The boots meet ASTM F2892-18 electrical hazard resistance safety standards and have a removable ultimate shock absorption footbed on a Poron Comfort Cushion Insole, providing dual-density cushioning with air-permeable open cells that resist moisture and absorb shock.

The Goodyear welt construction provides superior wear resistance and moisture seal between the upper and midsole, making these extremely dependable, long-lasting, and fully-serviceable work boots. The fiberglass shank construction gives these tough men's boots the flex and strength needed to maintain their shape under heavy duress, and the 11-inch flexible ankle support keeps the wearer secure up top.

Thorogood's "Job-Fitted" design makes these American Heritage Wellington boots for men ideal for a range of outdoor and industrial applications, such as carpentry, construction, electrical work, farming, maintenance, mechanics, pipefitting, plumbing, and any other dirty jobs that require comfortable work boots.
