The boots' MAXWEAR WEDGE™ TRACTION OUTSOLE flexes better than other work boot outsoles, absorbing impacts and protecting your feet and ankles while working on difficult surfaces. This keeps you on your feet on loose gravel, wet, and oily surfaces, meeting ASTM F3445-21 slip-resistance standards.

These work boots also feature EH RESISTANCE, meeting ASTM F2413-18 electrical hazard resistance safety standards. The REMOVABLE ULTIMATE SHOCK ABSORPTION FOOTBED uses dual-density polyurethane concentrated under the heel and ball strike zone to absorb impacts and wick away moisture, providing the most comfortable men's work boots on the market.

Thorogood's history dates back to 1892, when Albert H. Weinbrenner, at the age of 27, opened a cobblery in Milwaukee with partner Joseph Peffer, serving the "Jobbing" trades. The company has since evolved, becoming a major contributor of boots to the U.S. Army during World War I and introducing the iconic "Hike n' Camp" boot in 1964, which is still available in its original design today.

In 1988, the company purchased a local group, including six employees, and created the "ThoroGard" division featuring high-tech occupational safety footwear. In 2000, Weinbrenner employees took ownership of the company through an ESOP, and the company celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2017, demonstrating a renewed commitment to upgrading and improving its domestic facilities, machines, equipment, manufacturing methods, and computer systems/programs.

In 2022, Weinbrenner celebrated 130 years as a company, with the opening of a new factory in Merrill, WI and the launch of the first western wear product, Thorogood's Square Toe Wellingtons. As Thorogood gains popularity and expands with many new styles on the horizon, sales continue to increase, solidifying the brand's reputation for quality and innovation.
