Thorogood's moc toe work boot design, crafted from DURABLE FULL-GRAIN LEATHER, offers both comfort and durability for demanding jobs. Available in Tobacco (804-4208), Trail Crazyhorse (804-4478), and Midnight Black (804-6208), these AMERICAN MADE boots are produced by skilled craftsmen and women at Thorogood's US plants using USA and globally sourced components.
The MAXWEAR WEDGE™ TRACTION OUTSOLE on these STEEL TOE BOOTS FOR MEN flexes better than other work boot outsoles, absorbing impacts and protecting your feet and ankles while working on difficult surfaces, keeping you on your feet on loose gravel and wet and oily surfaces. This outsole meets ASTM F3445-21 slip-resistance standards.
These work boots also meet ASTM F2413-18 safety toe standards, protecting your feet from on-site impact and compression hazards while maintaining a light and flexible design. The REMOVABLE ULTIMATE SHOCK ABSORPTION FOOTBED utilizes dual-density polyurethane concentrated under the heel and ball strike zone to absorb impacts and wick away moisture, providing the most comfortable men's work boots.
Furthermore, these THOROGOOD boots are EH RESISTANCE rated, meeting ASTM F2413-18 electrical hazard resistance safety standards.
Tracing the brand's history, Thorogood's origins date back to 1892 when Albert H. Weinbrenner, at the age of 27, opened a cobblery in Milwaukee with partner Joseph Peffer, serving the "Jobbing" trades. The company was formally established as the Albert H. Weinbrenner Co. in 1900. Over the decades, Weinbrenner has been a major contributor of boots to the U.S. Army, introduced the "Job-fitted" concept, and ventured into safety footwear production starting in 1938.
In 1964, the company introduced the iconic "Hike n' Camp" boot, which became its best-selling model of all time and is still available today in its original design. The company was purchased by a local group, including six employees, in 1988, leading to the creation of the "ThoroGard" division featuring high-tech occupational safety footwear.
In 2000, Weinbrenner employees took ownership of the company through an ESOP. The company has continued to evolve, celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2017 and demonstrating a renewed commitment to upgrading its facilities, equipment, and manufacturing processes. In 2022, Thorogood celebrated 130 years as a company, opening a new factory in Merrill, WI and launching its first western wear product, the Square Toe Wellingtons.
As Thorogood continues to gain popularity and expand its product lines, the brand's sales have steadily increased, with many new styles on the horizon.
