DURABLE FULL-GRAIN LEATHER BOOTS in Thorogood's moc toe work boot design are both comfortable and hold up to punishing jobs. These boots, made in the USA with USA and globally sourced components by the skilled craftsmen and women at Thorogood's US plants, are available in Tobacco (804-4208), Trail Crazyhorse (804-4478), and Midnight Black (804-6208).
The MAXWEAR WEDGE™ TRACTION OUTSOLE flexes better than other work boot outsoles, absorbing impacts and protecting your feet and ankles while working on difficult surfaces, keeping you on your feet on loose gravel and wet and oily surfaces. The outsole meets ASTM F3445-21 slip-resistance standards.
These STEEL TOE BOOTS FOR MEN protect your feet from on-site impact and compression hazards while the design keeps them light and flexible, making American Heritage some of the best safety toe boots for men with dangerous jobs. They meet ASTM F2413-18 safety toe standards.
The REMOVABLE ULTIMATE SHOCK ABSORPTION FOOTBED uses dual-density polyurethane concentrated under the heel and ball strike zone to absorb impacts and wick away moisture, providing the most comfortable mens work boots.
The brand's history dates back to 1892 when Albert H. Weinbrenner, at the age of 27, opened a cobblery in Milwaukee with partner, Joseph Peffer, serving "Jobbing" trades. In 1900, the Albert H. Weinbrenner Co. was formed, and the company has since made significant contributions to the work boot industry.
Some key milestones include the introduction of the "Job-fitted" concept in 1917, becoming a major contributor of boots to the U.S. Army in WWI, and taking the first steps into safety footwear production in 1938. The company celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1942 and converted to all-military footwear for the duration of WWII, producing combat and dress styles.
In 1964, the company introduced the Official Boy Scout Boot, the Hike n' Camp, with a wedge sole and moccasin-style stitching, which became the company's best-selling boot of all time and is still available in its original design today.
The company was purchased by a local group, including six employees, in 1988, and the "ThoroGard" division was created, featuring high-tech occupational safety footwear. In 2000, Weinbrenner employees took ownership of the company through an ESOP.
In 2001, within three days of the September 11 terror attacks, Weinbrenner donated 300 pairs of durable work boots to Ground Zero, with another 200 pairs following. The company celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2017 and is demonstrating a renewed commitment to upgrading and improving its domestic facilities, machines, equipment, manufacturing methods, and computer systems/programs.
Today, Thorogood continues to gain popularity, and the brand is expanding with many new styles on the horizon, including the launch of its first western wear product, Thorogood's Square Toe Wellingtons, in 2022.
